Genesis 18:20-19:38; Matthew 6:25-7:14; Psalm 8:1-9; Proverbs 2:6-15
“Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life”….Do you worry? I worry. Are we supposed to worry? Jesus tells us NOT to worry…to fret…to stew…to try to work things out on own. But it’s so hard NOT to worry especially when problems seem to need our immediate attention and resolution as if it’s always up to us. That’s our human nature. And…Jesus knew this about us. He confidently tells us to not worry about clothes, food, shelter….the basics. He knows what we need and He will make sure we have what we need for this life. Do we have food? Yes. Do we have clothes? Yes. Do we have a roof over our heads? Yes. Yes. Yes.
Forgive me Lord for worrying. Help me to see your gracious and daily provision in my life and to give you all thanks and praise. Be with those in this world that lack the basics and provide them clothes, food and shelter–using your faithful people who have so much. For Jesus’ sake. Amen
“Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
