Jan. 20 Movin’ Heaven and Earth

Genesis 41:17-42:17;  Matthew 13: 24-46;  Psalm 18: 1-15;  Proverbs 4:1-6

“I love you, O Lord, my strength.  The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my Rock, in whom I take refuge.  He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”  Psalm 18:1-2

Psalm 18 is a picture of God our Rescuer–

He saw mankind being strangled with the devastating effects of sin and evil.  He heard our cries for help, for deliverance, for rescue.

 And God acted!

He moved heaven and earth to help us–He shook up the natural world and did the impossible–He enabled a young virgin girl to become pregnant; to bear a son who lived a perfect life, died a horrible death, but was raised to life.  Through faith in God’s  son–Jesus–the “cords of death” no longer have a stranglehold on our lives.

 We are rescued!

Praise God!  Amen
