Judges 11:1-12:15; John 1:1-28; Psalm 101:1-8; Proverbs 14:13-14
A cute AT&T commercial currently airing shows a young man sitting among a circle of first graders. He asks the group, “Who thinks more is better than less?”
One of the little girls explains why more is better than less, “If there’s more ‘less’ stuff and…your parents don’t let you because there’s less, we just want more…if you really like it you just want more…we want more, we want more.”
Yep. More is better than less.
“It’s not complicated.”
That’s what God thought too. He gave us His all–His son Jesus. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1:14
“And from his fullness we have all received grace upon grace.” John 1:16
“Christ…is an interminable well, the chief source of all grace, truth, righteousness, wisdom and life, without limit, measure or end.” ~ Martin Luther
Like the little girl in the commercial we who confess Christ as Lord and Savior want more–more of His love, grace, mercy, wisdom, truth–not only for ourselves but for those around us both near and far…..It’s not complicated!
Lord God, we don’t deserve your endless supply of grace. Yet you continue to lavish it upon us—thank you! Help us to show others the way to receive your grace through Jesus, your son. In His name we pray, Amen
