2 Kings 10:32-12:21;  Acts 18:1-22;  Psalm 145:1-21;  Proverbs 18:1

Ever reached for an energy drink to give you a needed boost to get you through the day–or night?  Something to keep you focused and alert like a steaming cup of coffee?

What do you reach for when your spirit is lagging?  Your zeal for the Lord is fuzzy?

Try meditating on Psalm 145 and see if David’s Song of Praise doesn’t raise your spiritual energy level!

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,

and his greatness is unsearchable.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over

all his has made.

All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord

and all your saints shall bless you.

The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind

in all his works.

The Lord upholds all who are falling,

and raises up those who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look to you, and you give them

food in due season.

You open your hand, you satisfy

the desires of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways

and kind in all his works.

The Lord is near to all who call on him,

to all who call on him in truth.

He fulfills the desire of those who fear him;

he also hears their cry and saves them.

The Lord preserves all who love him,

but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,

and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”

Lord God, we praise you and bless you along with all the saints who have gone before us and with all those who walk beside us now.  Thank you for David’s Psalm of praise which focuses our body, mind and spirit on you–the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Thank you for your Word which re-energizes us–may we eagerly tell others of the great things you have done for us through your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.  In His name we pray and praise, Amen
