June 29 Consider The Source

2 Kings 15:1-16:20;  Acts 19:13-41;  Psalm 147:1-20;  Proverbs 184-5

Been searching for answers?  Need a drink to quench a wanderer’s thirst?  There are options to consider.  Man’s wisdom or the Wisdom of God.  Consider the source.

“The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;

the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.”  Proverbs 18:4

“For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water…”  Revelations 7:17

“Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, “Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”  John 7:37-38

“Jesus said, ‘The water that I give him will become in him a spring of living water welling up to eternal life.”  John 4:14

Lord God, thank you for quenching our thirst with the Living Water of Jesus Christ your Son.  Thank you for washing us clean through the waters of Baptism.  Grant that we offer those who are thirsty for truth, the life giving Word that you provide–that they might believe and drink from your fountain of wisdom, your bubbling brook that never runs dry.  In Jesus’ Name we pray,  Amen.
