1 Chronicles 26:12-27:34; Romans 4:13-5:5; Psalm14:1-7; Proverbs 19:17
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perserverance; perserverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit he has given us.” Romans 5:1-5
Heavenly Father, we rejoice that we can stand before your presence not fearing your wrath because you see your son in us. You see his shed blood covering our sins. You see his righteousness instead of our sinfulness. We rejoice and give you thanks.Through faith in your son, hope springs in our hearts even when we are tested, when we suffer, when things around us look bleak. Your love sustains us, your Spirit fills us–we hope and are not disappointed. We rejoice and give you thanks. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
