November 5 Sanctuary

Ezekiel 10:1-11:25;  Hebrews 6:1-20;  Psalm 105:16-36;  Proverbs 27:1-2

A quiet place out of the way

where thoughts collect and

whispered prayers

waft to heaven

where He hears.

A safe place between

two or more who call upon

His name

in the day of trouble,

surrounded by the shield of Faith,

Satan’s arrows

smoldering at their feet.

A holy place where

truth and righteousness

uphold weak arms

and strengthen feeble knees,

giving second wind

to battle wearied hearts.

The place where His Glory dwells

and we see His pierced

hands and feet,

His smile, the twinkle in His eyes,

and feel our hearts beat

as one,

where we linger

in peace

beyond understanding.

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says, ‘Although I sent them far away among the nations

and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for

them in the countries where they have gone.'”  Ezekiel 11:16

Lord God,  some days the fight is strong.  Satan attacks with lies and deception.  We grow weary.  Thank you that we can come to you for rest–You are our sanctuary.  You give us respite and help us to run again the race set before us.  Keep us strong in the one true faith;  to keep our eyes on Jesus;  to trust Him as One who has gone before us.  In His name we pray, Amen.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.  It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain where Jesus who went before us, has entered on our behalf.”  Hebrews 6:19-20
