Joel 1:1-3:21; Revelation 1:1-20; Psalm 128:1-6; Proverbs 29:18
“Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail (mourn) on account of him. Even so. Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
For we who believe and are assured of Salvation, Christ’s coming in the clouds may cause us to weep for joy. But for so many others, their words of denial will come back to haunt them. Saying ‘no’ to Jesus in this life through unbelief means ‘no’ to eternal life–and seeing the one they’ve denounced will be great cause for mourning and wailing.
Imagine the sound that day.
We may weep for joy when our Lord comes, but we may also shed tears of sorrow to see people we work with, live with, enjoy football games with, fishing with, scrapbooking with, running with, cooking with collapse with overwhelming grief at the realization that it’s too late for them.
“The time is near.” Jesus is coming back in all His glory to judge the living and the dead.
God grant us a fervent desire to see all those we know–and don’t know–saved by your Grace, that when Christ comes again in the clouds we may all cry with tears of joy and praise. For Jesus’ sake, Amen.
“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:5-6
If you don’t know him as Lord and Savior, bow your head and pray this prayer: Lord God, I know that I am a sinner. I am not perfect. Please forgive my sins. Come into my heart by faith. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and can make me new. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I may grow in faith and love towards you and towards others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
And rest assured that “all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
