Numbers22:21-23:30;  Luke 1:57-80;  Psalm 58:1-11;  Proverbs 11:12-13

” A man who lacks judgement derides his neighbor,

but a man of understanding holds his tongue.

A gossip betrays a confidence,

but a trustworthy man

keeps a secret.”

Proverbs 11:12-13

Worthy of weekend pondering

and prayerful consideration.

Lord, help us guard our words

and the words of others

entrusted to us.

What comes out

cannot be reeled

back in.

Give us wisdom

to treasure

confidences

and keep them

safe in our hearts.

For Jesus’ sake,

Amen.

  1. Laura, what poignant words for us to ponder and heed. There are not many things I have regretted more than rash words spoken. It’s what comes out of our mouths that gets us in the most trouble.
