Deuteronomy 26:1-27:26; Luke 10:38-11:13; Psalm 76:1-12; Proverbs 12:15-17
“Then he (Jesus) said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me and I have nothing to set before him.’ “Then the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me…I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:5-9
My blood has bought you, cleansed you,
In the presence of my Father
I didn’t tear the temple veil for nothing,
the day my body was torn,
when my body was split
from life to death.
you who believe,
who stand in my light.
Tell me what you need.
Tell me what you’re looking for.
Tell me what doors need unlocking.
Lord God, thank you for teaching us how to pray. Thank you for Jesus, whose sacrifice on the cross opened the door to bold praying. We don’t deserve such privilege, O Lord, to be heard by the God of the universe and–be answered. All of our prayers find their “yes” in You. You are the answer to all our prayers; to all our seeking; to all our questions. Thank and praise your Holy Name! Amen.
