1 Kings 18:1-46; Acts 11:1-30; Psalm 135:1-21; Proverbs 17:12-13
“Praise the Lord!
“Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant!
Lord God, you dwell in our hearts by faith–what a mystery that is! But we thank and praise your Holy Name, even when we don’t understand. Whatever this day brings, O Lord, may praise be on our lips. Through crowded streets, intense work schedules, preparations for a son’s wedding, a dimly lit hospital room, alone in an apartment, nose in a textbook, may we praise you for you are worthy of our praise. You alone are God and in your Triune name we pray, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen!
