2 Chronicles 29:1-36; Romans 14:1-23; Psalm 24:1-10; Proverbs 20:12
“For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or we die, we belong to the Lord.”
“Therefore, let us stop passing judgement on one another. Instead make up your mind not to put a stumbling block or obstacles in your brother’s way…For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating or drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” Romans 14:7-8, 13, 17-19
Eat meat or not?
Observe this special day or not?
Lord, teach us what really matters–
to know you as Lord and Savior,
to know that faith in You opens the door to Heaven
and not outward observances
of a holy “To Do” list.
Help us live in such a way
that it points others to Your awesome truth.
May our words and actions
not cause doubt and division
among our sisters and brothers.
Forgive us when we impose
a false standard and judge others
against our human “ideal” of a godly Christian.
Let us look to you alone
and humble ourselves
knowing who we truly are–
but dearly loved by You,
Forgiven and cleansed
and freed from sin.
