“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again,
I will say rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men.
The Lord is at hand.
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God,
which passes all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds
through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble,
whatever things are just,
whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report,
if there is any virtue
and if anything praiseworthy–
meditate on these things.
The things which you learned and received
and heard and saw in me,
these do, and the God of peace will
be with you.”
Heavenly Father, I give you thanks and praise for the faithful men and women I’ve known who have faithfully lived their lives for you. Not that they were perfect, but they KNEW you and walked as forgiven servants of the Word. In humbleness, they served. Good things were on their lips. Peace followed them around. As another weekend approaches, may I reflect on these Christian models and give thanks. Bless and keep them in your care. Help me to focus on all of the positive things happening around me and to give you the glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
