Leviticus 1:1-3:17;  Mark 1:29-2:12;  Psalm 35:17-28;  Proverbs 9:13:18

“A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.  So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.

Some men came ,bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.  Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus, and after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed many was lying on.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic,

“Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Mark 2:1-5

Friends

and faith

and Jesus

brought healing

through the roof

for a man

bound and still

longing to be free,

longing to be whole.

They

lowered him down

but Jesus raised him up

with words of forgiveness.

His word healed

and made light

the man’s affliction.

Christ’s words of forgiveness

makes light our load of sin

and lifts us

through the roof

to new life in Him.

Thanks be to God

for faithful friends

He uses in our lives

to dig through obstacles,

to clear away the rubble

and make clear

the way to Him

who know true healing

comes from

the Savior’s touch!

Lord God, you provided our most needed healing through your Son Jesus Christ.  By His stripes we are healed!  Thank you for binding up our soul’s wounds with our Savior’s healing hands, for forgiving all our sins and making us new through the water and Word of Baptism.  Thank you for dear friends who have come alongside us in our lifetime to speak your Word of truth, to push through our excuses that so paralyze us so that we could see you and be healed.  Thank and praise you, Lord Jesus!  Amen.
