Ecclesiastes 4:6:12; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:7; Psalm 47:1-9; Proverbs 22:16
“For we are the temple of the living God, as God said,’I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them and I will be their God and they shall be my people’… Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.”
2 Corinthians 6:16, 7:1
I look inward and pray
“Lord, show me my sins.
Light the corners, the nooks, the crannies
of my heart.
By the Spirit’s power
sweep your throne room clean.
Remove the clutter, stains and rust.”
I look outward and pray
“Lord, guard the entrance to your temple.
Quicken my conscience.
Give me resolve to
shut my eyes,
stop my ears,
silence my tongue.
Turn from evil.
Flee temptation.”
I look upward and pray
“Thanks be to you O God
for you kept my feet from stumbling.
You set me on solid ground.
You come into my heart–your temple.”
Lord God Heavenly Father, it is awesome to know that you dwell within a believer’s heart–in my heart! Lord I believe that Jesus’ body and blood, broken and shed for me, created the clean in me. Covered the bad. Coated it with good. I am forever grateful! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
“For God is the king of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations. God is seated on his holy throne.” Psalm 47:7-8
