Ezekiel 14:12-16:42;  Hebrews 7:18-28; Psalm 106:1-12;  Proverbs 27:4-6

“The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he (Jesus) holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.  Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost, those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

Hebrews 7:23-25

I know that my Redeemer lives!

What comfort this sweet sentence gives!

He lives, he lives, who once was dead;

He lives, my ever-living head!

He lives triumphant from the grave;

He lives eternally to save;

He lives exalted, throned above;

He lives to rule his Church in love.

He lives to grant me rich supply;

He lives to guide me with his eye;

He lives to comfort me when faint;

He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.

He lives to silence all my fears;

He lives to wipe away my tears;

He lives to comfort me when faint;

He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.

He lives to bless me with his love;

He lives to plead for me above;

He lives my hungry soul to feed;

He lives to help in time of need.

He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly friend;

He lives and loves me to the end;

He lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing;

He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King!

He lives and grants me daily breath;

He lives, and I shall conquer death;

He lives my mansion to prepare;

He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives, all glory to his name!

He lives, my Savior, still the same;

What joy this blest assurance gives’

I know that my Redeemer lives!

~ Samuel Medley

Thank you dear Jesus for being my Redeemer, my Redeemer who lives!  Thank you for saving me, for paying the price of all mankind’s sin on the Cross.  It is beyond my understanding!  Thank you for continuing to remember me –and all who look to you–before the Father’s throne in Heaven–for praying for us, for loving us with a never ending love.  Praise you–Father, Son and Holy Ghost!  Amen.

December 9 “Even So”

Joel 1:1-3:21;  Revelation 1:1-20;  Psalm 128:1-6;  Proverbs 29:18

“Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail (mourn) on account of him.  Even so.  Amen.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:7-8

For we who believe and are assured of Salvation, Christ’s coming in the clouds may cause us to weep for joy.  But for so many others, their words of denial will come back to haunt them.  Saying ‘no’ to Jesus in this life through unbelief means ‘no’ to eternal life–and seeing the one they’ve denounced will be great cause for mourning and wailing.

Imagine the sound that day.

We may weep for joy when our Lord comes, but we may also shed tears of sorrow to see people we work with, live with, enjoy football games with, fishing with, scrapbooking with, running with, cooking with collapse with overwhelming grief at the realization that it’s too late for them.

“The time is near.”  Jesus is coming back in all His glory to judge the living and the dead.

God grant us a fervent desire to see all those we know–and don’t know–saved by your Grace, that when Christ comes again in the clouds we may all cry with tears of joy and praise.  For Jesus’ sake, Amen.

“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.  Amen.”  Revelation 1:5-6

If you don’t know him as Lord and Savior, bow your head and pray this prayer:  Lord God, I know that I am a sinner.  I am not perfect.  Please forgive my sins.  Come into my heart by faith.  I believe that Jesus died for my sins and can make me new.  Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I may grow in faith and love towards you and towards others.  In Jesus’ name I pray,  Amen.

And rest assured that “all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
